Welcome to St. Paul’s!
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! It is my privilege to welcome you as you look at this packet, which is an attempt to capture part of the essence of St. Paul’s, Greenfield Park, as a worshiping community within the Anglican Church of Canada.
We are called to be the body of Christ, the people of God here at this place and in this time. In the book of Esther, Queen Esther was brought to the kingdom, as the writer says, “for such a time as this.” In the economy of God’s perfect timing you have this in your hands as a means of introducing ourselves, perhaps of unshrouding the” mystery” of some of our parish groups and equally as the vehicle by which God is calling you to partner with us in the gospel.
Our Mission Statement: To grow to know Jesus personally, to make Him the centre of our lives and to share Him with others through our words and our deeds, is a simple vision but it is equally a work in progress.
It is my prayer that you read through this prayerfully open to the direction of God’s Holy Spirit as He speaks to the deep needs of your heart.
Welcome and may He richly bless you.
In Christ,
Linda Faith Chalk

A Community of Prayer
“Prayer is the channel through which all good flows from God to man, and all good from men to men. Prayer is a privilege ….prayer is a duty. It is a means, an instrument.” ---Unknown
Here at St. Paul’s, we agree with this statement. We believe that prayer is one of the most, if not the most important means of communicating with the Lord. Through prayer we develop our relationship with Him and we are able to discern His direction for our lives.
Pre Service Meeting: Prior to the 10:30 service, the Pastor invites parishioners into her office to pray for God’s blessings on everyone present and for those who are ministering as well.
Evening Prayer & Praise: This is a weekly time of worship on Tuesday evenings, followed by focused prayer for special needs of individuals or specific situations. It usually lasts for an hour and half. The notice is always placed in the bulletin and on the website.
Prayer Team: A team of two, minister to all who seek prayer for any concern during the Communion or after the service, when there is “Service of the Word.”
Prayer Chain Ministry : It consists of several parishioners who are committed to praying regularly for all who request prayers. The coordinator can be contacted for any request and to give progress reports.
Prayer Counseling: is provided by the Pastor by appointment.
Prayer Bears: A Prayer Bear is given to anyone who is experiencing illness or very challenging circumstances. The bears which are blessed by the Pastor have an attached prayer, reminding the person of God’s love and that the prayer chain is praying for the concern.
