And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works.
--Hebrews10:24--
We serve by discovering the real needs of people in our community and by meeting those needs in the name and the Spirit of Christ. How do we do this? By providing our kitchen and participating as volunteers for Meals on Wheels, donating food supplies to Hope (helping other people effectively), monthly financial contributions to mission programs in the greater Montreal area, nationally and internationally.
World Vision Children:
For more than 32 years, St Paul’s children have sponsored several children from different countries through World Vision ministry. The present child is from the Dominican Republic and she with her family, have been supported since she was 3 years old. She is now 13 years old and she is always thankful for the gifts and letters she receives for her birthday and at Christmas from the Sunday school children as well as group photos of them.
Operation Christmas Child:
For more than 17 years, each Christmas, we have partnered with Samaritan’s Purse, by sending approximately 100 shoe boxes filled with toys, school supplies and toilet articles to children form age 2 to 14 years old, around the world. These gifts bring joy to children who live in countries suffering from war, disasters famine, etc.
Monthly events for seniors:
We affirm, nurture, and celebrate older persons within our church community and the wider South Shore communities, by meeting some of their spiritual, social and physical needs. A team of volunteers plan social events for their enjoyment, including entertainment, afternoon tea and celebration of birthdays. Parishioners volunteer to drive seniors who require help with transportation. The highlight of these events, are the Spring Luncheon and the Christmas dinner. To empower them, we provide helpful information related to spirituality, health, security and other relevant topics.
