ACW

ACW (Anglican Church Workers)

The ACW is a group of parishioners, mostly women, who help organize suppers, organize Garage Sales, English Teas, Pre-Christmas Sales, Craft Fair, Garden Party and do the occasional supper or lunch at the request of the minister. We also provide catering for memorials, Barber Shop events, Lion's Club events, etc.  We prepare frozen food to be sold to parishioners and friends mostly seniors.  We do fundraising for the following organizations:

ACW Missions:

We have a few missions, our main one is our Christmas Baskets which we collect non-perishables all year round and then receive the names of families from the principal of Terry Fox School.  We then purchase what is needed, separate, wrap, make up the boxes of food and gifts and deliver them to the families (usually 10-12/year.
We also help at the women's shelter, Pavilion Marguerite de Champlain, where we also give food all year round when needed, give gifts at Christmas and Easter to the children and moms, collect new socks and underwear, hygienic products once/year and  whenever they need help.
We also, with St. Margaret of Antioch Church, have a Breakfast Program for Terry Fox School, where we donate breakfast food and items for recess to the school from September - June.
These are a few of our main missions but we also help out in other areas when needed.

So as you can see we are a very busy group and are continually looking to help where help is needed.

The Community Outreach Group would like to give a VERY BIG THANK YOU to all who contributed to the recent collection of household goods. Those who were in need are so very grateful. Again thank you for your generosity to a new family to Canada.
Now on to our next project....for the month of April.

Mission for APRIL 2022:
Bread and Beyond has asked our help in collecting the following items for the homeless.  This is for men and women ONLY

1.  Running shoes or sandals
2.  Jogging pants, jeans or ladies elastic waist pants
3.  Tee shirts
4.  Hoodies

All these items can be slightly used but in good condition.

If you have any of the above, please drop them off at St. Paul's church on Wednesdays between 11:30 and 1:30.

We will be collecting these items until the end of April.

Some of these items will also go to a shelter right here in GFP .

Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Remember everything you donate is going to someone in need and that is what the Lord wants us to do ... to help those less fortunate.

Outreach Letter for 2022:

Before Covid, the ACW of St. Paul's would send out a list at the start of a new year asking people to collect non perishables for our Christmas baskets in December.  Each month would have a theme; for example,  January was a tomatoes theme so we would collect tomato sauce, tomato paste, tomato soup, etc for January to go to the shelters and families at Christmas.  The theme changed every month.

Since Covid, we stopped collecting food items and gave out food gift cards instead.

This year, 2022, the Community Outreach Group, a new group formed to include all of the community and not just St. Paul's, has decided to go back to the monthly themes but instead of food, we will be collecting hygienic items and toiletries.

These products/items will be collected throughout the year (different items/ different months; see list) and put aside for the shelters, families and homeless to be given out upon special request (which seems to come more often lately) or kept for Christmas.

If you would like to participate, please read the list below and bring your items to St. Paul's on any Wednesday between 11:30 and 1:30.  Please attach your name to the items.

We thank you in advance for helping us help others.  Our community needs to work together to help those less fortunate, and when we help others, like it says in the Bible, we are helping Jesus.
During these difficult times, we in the community have been helping those less fortunate,  and that is all because of your kindness and generosity.

For more information, please phone or email Gloria or the church office.
